One thing Marx didn't account for was if/when the Communists becoming the Bourgeoise, the Establishment. I think that's why Communism always fails when it takes power. It's a great revolutionary force but once the revolution ends, nobody knows what to do and the state in question becomes a dictatorship ran by an autocratic warlord. We saw this happen first-hand here in America in CHAZ. Once they proclaimed their confederacy, barricaded the streets of Seattle (or was it Portland?) off, they had no idea what to do so when they ran out of food a mere _TWELVE HOURS LATER_ a Soundcloud rapper recreated the Beer Hall Putsch and declared himself to be the leader. Though unlike his National Socialist brethren, he actually got to be the leader of the "nation". He ruled with an iron fist until the police came in and cleared them out.

tbh for most of history people ruled through force. You weren't allowed to do a different job because the trade guild had that right and only they choose who they let in. All of these anti competition measures were used until a few hundred years ago, when, gasp, the idea of freedom appeared and let people exchange work and goods freely instead.

I've seen oh so many people who complain about huge corporations stagnating the wages of their workers also say that if a company is small and can't afford to absorb the financial loss of a government-mandated minimum wage that exceeds the value a worker's labor generates shouldn't exist, and they did not realize what the issue of holding both of those beliefs simultaneously brings about. And that's just one flavor of cognitive dissonance that a lot of people who ostensibly don't like big corporations have.
