I applaud Swoop for not wanting to make a video without all the facts (especially after the whole Johnny situation). She included as much of Oliver's story as she could at the time. Some people just need to get a hobby.

Oliver's story is not directly related to Colleen and for her to discuss his story, she would have to deep dive into Trent Ballinger and probably make separate videos. Its not as simple, especially as she's very thorough and factual.

This whole conversation (on Reddit, I mean, not this video) just sounds like people who need to be contrary. They’re just trolls who thrive on negativity.

And as someone who carries the same diagnosis (fibromyalgia) as Swoop and knows how it feels to experience chronic pain: anyone who thinks talking about it means you’re attention seeking or lying can just fuck right off.

I will NEVER listen to people who have negative things to say about Swoop. Reddit is a cesspool, I will never understand Snark pages. Is this not just a place to put negativity? Is this not where all the bullies go to be a$$hats? This is all Colleen Ballinger stirring the pot. Here's a crazy idea, if you don't want people to expose problematic behavior don't do things that a problematic Colleen!!!

That subreddit has become really silly. I tried commenting a while back and got deleted because I said I couldn't find an Instagram account they were talking about in a thread. That was it. That was the comment. I have no problem with Swoop and it looked like the "Snark" thread was swarming like flies to jump on her. The outrage du jour. Nothing is coming from the Colleen world, so let's jump on Swoop.

@radiantbritt Agreed 100% with you. As well, if I remember correctly, @Swoop’s 1st video, was demonetized & are people forgetting this? This makes me so sad that people are trying to come for Swoop because she’s sharing & being a voice for those with Fibromyalgia as well as a voice for those who are victims of DVA/IPV, SA, grooming & more? There’s a really super easy solution for the haters….NOTHING is stopping YOU, from stepping forward, putting your face & name out there, to share Oliver’s story. These haters have zero clue as to the amount of hours research, interviewing, editing & more that goes into sharing content in videos; when it comes to Swoop, multiply this by at least 1000, because of the length of time, energy & work that goes into what she shares. I’ve been a fan of Swoop’s for quite a few years now &’instead of looking for something to jump on the “Hate Train” with, put their money where their digital mouth is & create exactly what they would like to see; instead of hatefully trying to dictate what another creator’s content needs to be, in their opinion.

social worker here. she didn't handle my constructive criticism well at all. if someone is making money off an open investigation by cps they're probably not the most well intentioned. I've yet to find a single social media influencer with the emotional maturity to even have a conversation with me about ethics. People are criticizing Swoop? Thats wild. I think she's done very well at staying as nonbias as she can be. I had heard of her a while back and then started watching her videos when all these Colleen videos started coming out. She seems like a sweet person willth no ill intent. I have so much respect for how well she holds her composure!

I really like swoop. She does her best to bring stuff to light. She cares about people . She herself is a survivor of abuse. We shouldn’t bully her. You can disagree on her work respectfully . It seems Oliver hasn’t been pushing his story like Adam, becky and others .

I had seen Swoop on my YT feed before and didn’t give her a try until that interview, and it was the most gentle yet direct and honest interview I’ve ever seen. No questions meant to trap anyone or to get a reaction out of him. Whoever is calling her a clout chaser is ✨projecting✨

So Swoop and her team dedicate all their time, effort, and mental health into this series, but they make the mistake of neglecting one person's story and suddenly they're just "clout chasers" of everything? People are so chronically online and shallow. The team is just 3 human beings. Unbelievable.
It honestly feels like these people just use this as an excuse to be openly hateful and derogatory of her cos they "couldn't be" beforehand.
