I'd love to get a non-class-based, "Ten Great Magic Items" list for each tier of play... I like to give my players regular access to moderately neat stuff because our setting is a High Magic setting; but items in print are keyed more towards higher tiers of play and/or Low/Moderate Magic settings. It makes finding suitable neat loot awkward up until level 6-7, because everything is either too weak or too strong. 😫

Just so all my clerics know the Amulet of the devout boosts your to hit with spiritual weapon too!!

since alignment is a real part of the 5e cosmology, it makes sense that it is mechanically real but only plays a role in high-rarity items.

I know you have a full schedule but I would love to get your thoughts on the Helaina book of monster hunting. It’s got so many great things in it that focus on cutting up monsters and using the parts like in the monster hunter games.

I once made a character for a level 10 one shot where we were given a large amount of staring gold and allowed to use it to give ourselves magic items. I did an evocation wizard 8/tempest cleric 2 and picked the staff of lightning and thunder so fast

I would love that candle i have never seen it before. I must have glossed over it so many times over the years

TIL I'd been misreading Necklace of Prayer beads for forever. I thought they were one use only on the beads.

Indeed. But the downside of that is by escaping, those foes aren't dead/defeated. Until the heroes return, havoc can still insue.

Loooove these videos. Magic items are hands down my favourite thing about DND.

Mizzium + Shield Master feat is going to be easier to get than an Evasion skill, since Monk and Rogue don't get good armor prof.

over a year into my first party, we looted a helm of teleportation and the group wizard wanted it (in the older edition it gave anyone one cast of tp a day, but wizards got like 2 extra uses, but my fighter wanted it he needed travel abilities and non combat utility, i won the roll off. next room we walk into i fall into a death pit and use my new helm to tp to the room i found the helm, from then on he never thought of trading the helm. (though most of the campaign it was used to tp to different towns and shop/talk to people, he would just stay the night then tp back the next day)

While I don't picture clerics to be in dire need of melee weapons. I feel like medium armor dex based clerics fall in a bit of a blind spot when only proficient with simple weapons. There's a lot of better things to invest in than martial weapons proficiency but it seems like daggers are the only option available. (Peace domain as example)

My tempest cleric has a wand of lightning bolts and its sick. she'll use all the charges (minus 1 to make sure it doesnt break) + her channel divinity to max out the damage and use it as a mini nuke when needed

I have already sent this to my DM (hubby) for my cleric. LOL HOWEVER, he has already given an Amulet of the Devout to...our paladin, who has (1 year later) broken his oath with that god. Sigh...

That amulet is a game changer
Play the twilight domain with it and it was absurd

I have 1 blindspot when it comes to items and it's what to give to Druids. I usually wind up homebrewing something

Every time I dm a cleric or paladin post Tasha's the first magic item they ask for is ALWAYS the Amulet of the Devout. Always.
