You do not own a Doberman. The Doberman owns you. The greatest dog breed ever but you had better have the energy and intelligence for one.

My Doberman rides to the office 4 times a week to downtown busy area. We walk a mile a day in the city.
We go to job sites all over the State. She is one of the best employee and great for public relations with clients.

I don’t know why I clicked this I HAVE a Doberman! I just like this guy’s videos. If you can comment to exercise/ things to do and training you’ll have a great dog! They’re active dogs but not like herding breeds, who always seem ready to go, dobbies run hard like a two year old, light coma, run, repeat.❤

So very true! These behaviors are bred into Dobies, and you are living a fantasy if you think these can be trained out! Keep you Dobie exercised, mentally challenged, and by your side to have a calm, loving, and protective companion!

I have a doberman and 3 other dogs, he plays with them all day and runs around the house and in the backyard, he's 15 months old and at the end of the day he falls asleep on my sofa and stays there until the morning. I guess the fact that there are other dogs to play with, helps a lot with his excercise needs, he's very active. My other dogs are a mixed breed male, 14 years old (still runs and plays), and two females, 3 y.o. both very active and playful.

Exercise
Exercise
And be firm and direct with commands
Be consistent make it black or white, good or bad
They are extremely intelligent, and must be worn down mentally also

Dobermans can be a one person dog or have a favorite person. This can cause conflict in a house where the dog is glued to one person and really looks at every one else as second choice. It is even worse if someone is not a dog person, if a Doberman does not make a connection with a person they will not listen to that person. Some people look at a Doberman is this tough dog but it is the most sensitive where you can hurt their feelings, also they pick up your feeling if you are happy, sad or scared. Meeting dogs or people they feel what you are feeling and act to protect or stay calm.
