I lived in Houston in the 2000s and it has gotten so much better. It improved so much I considered moving back to Houston. The stuff ya'll have now I wish we had. And downtown has underground tunnels due to the heat with restaurants and stuff so people spend time down there. Houston has it cons but the more affordable cost of living, FOOD, the skylines, and Louisiana-Texas blended culture I miss.

My fiancé and I moved to Houston 3 years ago and I must agree on your cons. I will also add I think the hardest is finding our community. The people we do know out here are far and don’t feel like coming to our side of town and also I’m over being the one that has to go to them.

As someone who helps families and investors relocate to Houston, I can confirm these are real things to consider. But if you're prepared, Houston’s growth, affordability, and opportunity often outweigh the downsides.

I'm from the PNW and can assure you it's very scenic. I have family in Houston so I've been doing research on my next adventure 🙂

Houston roads* are extremely bad. I am Uber driver you have no idea how much I hate driving in the city. Just Potholes and bumps everywhere. I’m from East Africa, believe me we don’t have potholes like this in my country.

If you want a lot trees, you have to go to Spring and the Woodlands. Also, Not sure what side of Houston that you’re talking about, but I see plenty of trees in my area and all over my apartments. My apartments look like a forest.

Why is Houston lagging so far behind Dallas when it comes to rail infrastructure ? Obviously, the Texas leadership favors Dallas. Houston is so much larger by 1 million people and desperately needs more metro rail and commuter/ regional rail. The lack of connectivity is killing Houston . It’s hard to attract new cooperations when they see they do not have alternatives to driving. Dallas gets it! It’s so backwards that they are still widening freeways but will not dedicate 2 of those lanes for rail. If you build it, the people will come( at least the non natives will) Good luck Houston!

You're right, it's NOT pedestrian friendly. Never has been.

I live in Houston and no lies are detected LOL… Man especially that part about missing an exit on the freeway! If you mis an exit, you will add anywhere between 7 - 12 minutes to that trip! It’s NUTS!

I want to move so bad & loved Houston the one time I went there but hearing about the car theft & traffic really turns me off from it. But the vibes/food& COL make me want to move there.

I’m considering Dallas too but it seems so bougie up there& I’m not a bougie person lol.

You are NOT from Houston, are you? You CANNOT SPEAK ON HOUSTON IF YOU ARE NOT FROM HERE. If you don’t like it, LEAVE. We don’t want ANYMORE PEOPLE here anyway. We are congested enough as it is. We Houston people, love it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Oh, he really said Houston is flat with no scenery, As if he's coming from some mountainous paradise of the West Coast or something? Meanwhile, Florida’s not just flat, it’s boring—outside of its manufactured limestone, beaches, there’s not much to look at.At least in Houston, if you want some elevation, a quick 3-hour drive gets you to the Hill Country, Big Bend, or the Guadalupe Mountains, with a peak of 8, 751 feet. Florida’s tallest point? A whopping 345 feet. Right. A real punchline. And just a tip: don’t talk about flatness when you’re comparing your swampy state to the greatness of Texas—especially Houston!!!

The freeway comment and missing your exit wasn’t true until a few years ago after they reconfigured the highways. Once upon a time, if you missed an exit, you could just catch the next one and it wouldn’t delay you by much. I’ve lived here for 52 years and have tried to live a short distance from my workplace and within a 20 minute drive from friends and family. Now, I just don’t visit because of the traffic and not wanting to get in the highway anymore.

Downtown is a lot more active than it used to be 20 years ago. It really was a ghost town at night back in the day. It’s not hustling and bustling like many other major cities and their downtowns, but it is miles above where it used to be.

Westheimer isn’t that bad outside the loop. I live near Westheimer and it really isn’t that bad on the Galleria side heading west.

All the rest is accurate. So just don’t move here because we are at capacity and the more people who live here, some of the stuff on this list will only get more unbearable

I'm an Uber driver in Houston... but I hate it so much here. So naturally, I'm moving away to Belize to roll out my Uber hustle there. Because I was made to understand that Uber is the biggest business in the country of Belize... especially for EXPATS like myself who are flooding into Paradise... only to cash in abroad.

Maybe I missed it but I think you forgot mosquitos, fire ants, foundation shifting on your home, Pasadena, and you didn't stress heat and humidity enough. Yea, I'm from there.

Wow this is video I was looking before I decide to move to Houston. I moved to Texas from Florida too and I have been living in Arlington ever since and let me tell you what he is said about them side walks in Houston not being accessible or non existent is so true because that’s the same thing I experienced with the side walks in Arlington, maybe it’s a Texas thing when it comes to side walks being non existent to pedestrians because I experienced the same thing in Dallas, Fort Worth, Irving.
