Audi built Q5s or Q7s in Mexico that were seriously armored by Audi, because crime was so high there. But like all serious armored cars, the windows were fixed in place.

We had lots of bulletproof cars at my agency. I never saw one with roll down windows. But they did spend a lot of time in the shop because they were so heavy and so hard on the drive trains.

I had a 1993 W140 Mercedes S500L. It was Bullet and Grenade proof. Maddest car I ever owned and drove. I followed a 4wd through a river in New Zealand. He nearly got washed away because he was to light. My Merc weight two and a half tonne.

Thats one thing i dont get about life. In Burkina where i live, its hot and dusty, you never roll down the window anyway. Motor companies must just install fixed glass. And keep the ac in good condition

Not that I have seen many armored vehicles, but the ones I have seen didn’t have windows that went up or down. Nothing is bullet proof, only resistant. The idea is you get away before enough rounds hit that window before it fails.

You got to go to a vendor to bulletproof but the manufacturer may not do it.

Nowadays you can buy any car brand new and bullet proof in Brazil. Usually you pay 80.000, oo reais more, this is about U$ 15.000, oo + the car price.

He parked a Porsche on Renton Duvall hwy and had a friend come pick him up. He abandoned it at the tow yard I worked for as a kid. Apparently the car was too fast and signed it over to pay for lot fees.
