Scriptures about tithing & giving
Leviticus 27:30 (TLB): “A tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, is the Lord’s, and is holy.”

Proverbs 3:9 (NIV): “Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.”

Genesis 28:20–22 (NIV): “Then Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the LORD will be my God and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.’”

Nehemiah 10:35 (NIV): “We also assume responsibility for bringing to the house of the LORD each year the firstfruits of our crops and of every fruit tree.”

Malachi 3:10 (NIV): “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
"Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously".

2 Corinthians 9:7
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver".

Proverbs 11:25
"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed".

Lord, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want Your forgiveness. I was tithing before until I seen a pastor license plate that read the church brought it 4me. No lie. Then I was like are you serious how bold of some people. I know that's not a reason to stop but some of these so called Christians are so hypocritical at what they say and teach in the church and Jack Perry has said it best if you ever watch her preaching. I will start it again because I'm not longer at that church and it's not about them it's about the Lord.

This is interesting...I had a conversation the other day, where tithing was seen as an act of obedience only. You explaination gives it a less strict feel. I'm being lead to tithe so I will. But I still need to seek clarity on this topic as a whole.

Hi! Thanks for speaking on this. Where in the Word does He say give our tithe to a local church? I've done this all throughout my life, and here recently, since I don't belong to a local church, I still want to set aside my tithe, but have struggled with clarity on where to place it. I was reading Deuteronomy 14:22-27, and from what I'm understanding– the tithe is for us to use on what we choose in honor of God in His presence, and in addition to help the poor. Could you provide any insight on this? Thank you!

But I feel like my prayer are not being answered because I don't do it or am I looking at it wrong? My faith in God and what I give shouldn't be a reflection of my pocketbook. Or is it because some of these pastors will make you feel like it is.

If you decide to take out the 10% for the Tithes but instead of feeling led to give to the church you feel led to save it. Would that be wrong?
