They might expand for a few seconds, but if they react like normal marshmallows those suckers are collapsing INSTANTLY. Which as freeze dried i dont think they would expand much or at all because of the lack of moisture. Cause that's (one of) the ways things expand. This is why if you want to make any hot dessert rocky road flavored (cookies, cake, brownies) be prepared to add more marshmallows in later/right before it finishes. Otherwise it'll just disolve into the dessert as it bakes (same goes for american sweet potatoes dishes)

Lucky charms marshmallows are just dehydrated. If you want a dupe, circus peanut candy is the exact same thing and if you wanted to actually rehydrate them you’d have to stuck it in water and hope they don’t dissolve first. Microwaving them would either melt or burn them since by that point they’re basically just sugar

My autistic ass doesnt like the feeling or the crunch of the freeze dried marshmallows so knowing I can get them as real marshmallows makes me feel happy since now I can enjoy lucky charms
