Tried everything in the video and the game still won't launch. Followed the advice in the article pinned as well and still nothing. I wish Arrowhead would at least ACKNOWLEDGE this issue. It looks like if you get a version on steam without a gameguard folder, you're just fucked because you can't even delete and launch to reinstall it

Tried all the steps with no luck. I launch it, the game guard window is up, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then it closes and a report a problem shows up.

I MAY HAVE A FIX TO ANYONE WHO'S GAME ISN'T FIXED BY THIS! It requires you reinstall the game. Delete every file of Helldivers, but do not worry if it says there is a file in use. That file is the issue. It should be file wwise_windowsplugin64.dll or something to that effect. It will say it is in use. What you need to do is restart your PC and immediately find that file in the helldivers2 (remember, that file was preventing full deletion so the folder will remain!) folder in your steamapps common folder. After this, reinstall the game. It may take a longer while for the game to start at first because it is reinstalling everything. I will keep this updated if I find any new issues!

It worked for me. Start compatibility mode, and then star again in normal mode. thx

i am missing the "GameGuard" folder in the "Bin" folder, does anyone know how i can get it back?

i never had the gameguard folder to start. and when trying to open the game for it to redownload the gameguard folder, nothing happens.

that has nothing to do with steam that cause client random crash. fyi. the most important why client crashed in the first palce, . it's coded in the client, ex. hotfixes, UI, regg and bugs. making a shitpost video, you arent gonna help these viewers to understadn troubeshooting. you just have wait for devs update another patch to fix the issues.
