How it feels to be a Marine recruiter 💀

Being a Marine recruiter is not as easy as many people might assume. Although the job is not physically demanding, it can be mentally challenging, as recruiters are faced with the pressure of meeting their recruitment goals, while also ensuring that they are attracting quality candidates who are capable of fulfilling the rigorous requirements of being a Marine.

Despite the challenges, serving as a recruiter is a highly rewarding experience, as recruiters get to play a vital role in shaping the future of the Marine Corps by helping to bring new recruits into the fold. The sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from watching someone transform from a civilian to a Poole and finally to a Marine is truly unmatched.

Next time you see a Marine recruiter, make sure you hug them and tell them it will all be ok 😂💀

One time a Marine recruiter called. After like 10 minutes of me politely shutting him down he gave up and we just talked about video games for like an hour lol

I remember I got a call from a marine corps recruiter a few months ago asking about if I ever thought about joining the corps. I was like "bruh, I got out just a few months ago. Why are you calling me about this?” and he said "oh shit I'm sorry I was going through this phone book record I acquired at your high school you went to." Damn that was 7 years ago🤣

“Oh you took Codeine when you were 11 after getting teeth removed?” “Sorry but that’s an automatic disqualification”

As a veteran, I absolutely love trolling recruiters.

Recruiter called. Told him I was interested. He got excited. Asked what would I want to do. I said something with tanks or mortars. He got more excited. He asked if I did sports or anything. Told him I rode bikes for fun. Something like 10 miles a day at the time, nothing crazy. He got even more excited, could hear it in his voice.
Asked about my highschool stuff, at the time I didn't have a diploma or GED (would get eventually just not then) and you could just hear him deflate like a balloon.
Dude went from "Fuck yeah, man" to "Fuck. Yeah, man".

It’s definitely not easy being a recruiter for any branch of the military

After serving on Marine Corps Recruiting duty, some individuals may develop a heightened fear to using the phone.

Lol the idea of a marine being scared to make a phone call is kinda hilarious

I love our military but this recruitment disaster is their fault. Long waits at the VA, homeless vets, bad pay. We need to take care of our soldiers

As someone that's worked in call centers before, "please don't pick up" is immensely relatable. I'd rather be the janitor in a surgical operating theater than have to log 1, 000 cold calls a day for minimum wage.

When I was still in high school this army recruiter really pushed and pushed for me to join up, even going so far as to say they had a car waiting for me outside the school. Naturally I ghosted them and when they called again I just gave them some BS about how it was against my religious beliefs or something and even still he was like "Dude financial aid is going to go away, you won't be able to afford college" and deceptive garbage like that. The whole thing felt really scummy and really soured my impression of the army.

Bro, I had a marine recruiter litterally pull into the driveway of my apartment building to try to pitch the marines to me. I replied with, "Sorry, I was stuck on an amphib with you guys in the Persian Gulf for 6 months. What makes you think I want to go back to that in a different uniform?"

In the words of my USMC veteran grandfather who fought at Iwo Jima "Fuck the American Military. Never join up"
This is the single best advice he ever gave me and my siblings
