Just got an SSL12 today. I had been shopping for an interface for several months now coming from a Focusrite Saffire. There isn’t a ton of marketing or buzz over the SSL12 but there should be. I have zero complaints and the sound is indeed right on. Great review!

I went a Motu UltraLite-mk5. Perfect Circuit has it for 10% off no tax, bringing it closer to the SSL 12 in price with way more I/O and smaller footprint. Seems like a no brainer.

It's pity that it has no physical switch for direct monitoring. I'm looking for an audio interface not requiring control software (I'm a Linux user). Regards!

Slightly off topic question... What interface are you (or rather: were you using prior to the ssl 12) using to feed the ssl summing mixer?

I see the eleven rack in the background. Do you still get much use out of it? I'm kinda moving away from mine mainly cos support in windows sucks. eleven rack editor doesnt work anymore, even after fresh installs I just get a blank window. sometimes its not recognised in windows etc. Just showing its age basically. Reason im looking at an SSL video is cos I think i will replace the 11R

I notice you have a lot of rack outboard gear. How do you manage tracking those devices without many outs and no ADAT out on the SSL 12.
