Repairing saves resources though instead of making a new tool every time. I understand scrapping/make new one after 2 or 3 repairs but saying never to repair is misleading

This can be turned off or tuned down they do lose way too much per repair

This whole game’s setup is built around recycling, not keeping weapons, gear, or even tribesmen forever. Even your “main”swaps of you manage to die.

Its new and refreshing and keeps OP issues in check for PvP

its 10% max dura per repair so a tier 4 or 5 can be repaired a couple of times before they hit the dura of a green or white :)

I noticed this extreme durability loss too. I beleive the devs are trying to incentivise us to get a high level crafter leveled up and replace our gear regularly, because with a good crafter you'll get IV or V (epic or legendary) quality craft pretty much every time. They are "forcing" us to get good thralls in our base

My brother and I calculated this mechanic last night and we think the item loses 20% max durability per repair.

Also, your tribesman's armor/weapon/craftsman skill affects max durability when the item is crafted. So make sure whoever is making the tools or gear has a high skill.

talked to the devs about this makes no sense to lose 19% of the life time durability, the higher the quality the bigger the impact,

Better tip: If you stop the repair process before 100% (i.e. about 75%), then the weapons, armor and tools don't lose durability! 😁

yep can confirm I've got my own server and yes the durability going down with every repair is a major it should be less tbh and I have done a repair on a tool that I used without meaning to and I repaired it and noticed the damn thing dropped below what it was damaged by :/

Your logic is sound assuming you have a ton of resources, and more relevant in PVP where you have to worry about getting ambushed. You also have to consider the repair cost vs durability loss. Do I need a pick with maximum durability to smash some rocks around my base? Not really. Do I want them to have max durability if I am going halfway across the map to try and get some obsidian? Probably. Same with armor If I'm going to run through the low level area to go get some salt, let me use my old armor instead of scuffing the new set that I want at its best before I run up to do a dungeon. Repairing is contextual based on the situation. Then of course as the durability goes down hand the stuff of to your tribesmen.

The durability won't go down less and less. It will go down more and more the more you repair said item. Now the durability on the item will get less and less.

Same on official PVE, kinda stupid because you go through them rather quick on a decent mining run.

What is the point of even having a repair bench or an option to repair if they are gonna fuck us over like this? like wtf soulmask dev.

If you repair anything that has a mod attached, you will also lose the mod.
