As a native English speaker, I've always wondered if I was using "an" and "a" properly. I rarely ever used "an" in my daily speech, so I figured I must've been wrong. Turns out, I actually knew how to use them. I answered all the examples perfectly without thinking. I have no idea how I knew; I assume just being around any language long enough allows you to pick up on rules you didn't even know existed. Crazy!

I’m an adult, native English speaker. I’m not an ESL learner. I was curious about an and an. I’ve learned the incorrect way in high school, and just now, this way.

To all you who are learning English as a second language, I don’t know how common this is but even native English speakers can still learn some English rules, I think.
