It's always refreshing to see backpackers who don't obsess over pack weight to the extreme. Hooray for a bit of comfort.

And bonus info: The collapsible cup from Sea to Summit fits perfectly on top of the Toaks 750. So it's basically just like an extra thick lid. And if you use the little orange bag the Toaks comes in, it actually fits outside of the mug on top of the Toaks. Then you'll always know where that mug is :)

Thank THANK U!!!! By far, the best video I've watched so far that goes into detail about backpacking gear. Out of the 100s & 100s videos out there, your video is explicit to the: what, when, where, why, and how. Finally, it is a video that makes sense and gives a foundation to build from. Great job, and thank you again for making this

I think this is one of the best gear videos this year! Realistic and keeps up with inflation and the lack of cash I have for gear 😂.

Backcountry Bidet was a great surprise!
I lived in Thailand for 20 years and there is nothing cleaner than a good wash. I would encourage everyone to not be squeamish. It truly works better.
A LOT BETTER!

More to add on the quilt: Don't skimp on quilt width if you're large or are an active sleeper - 60" wide is worth it. Also, a fully enclosed and insulated foot box is warmer than a cord-closed footbox.

Great suggestions and a very solid list. I agree on the addition of a chair, and that Flextail pump is an awesome, dual-use addition. A couple extra ounces but super useful after a long day of hiking. I started with an ultra minimal setup, but over time learned that adding in a pound of two of comfort items really makes a huge difference in the overall enjoyment of being outdoors.

I agree with you on the Helix pad. I own the ether lite as well, but the Helix is my go to moving forward 😊

Love the high back chair. It’s great if you fall asleep in the chair …not that I do that 😮

The REI magma quilt usually goes on sale around June. I picked mine up last June for $165. At that price it is the absolute best option.

I love my REI Flash 55! I have the older model with the WP brain, but the new ones are adjustable making it available for more backpackers and it’s just as good. Awesome pack for a great price, highly recommend!

Justin, can you please double-check the weight of the Exped Mega Pillow? Exped has it at 170g, which is much more than the 113g you show in the video.

I have to admit that for comfort camping this video has a lot of great options. And like everyone knows, the top three are the most important things to have. Backpack, sleeping bag and pad because getting a good nights sleep.
Just makes your camping and hiking trips that much more enjoyable.

Quilts are great, but my Big Anges Park series sleeping bag. Does everything and more with the same type of options.
Pockets to put a pillow and it has the same type of pockets underneath it for a sleeping pad.
I also prefer the Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow Premium Large over some of the others I have tried. That with a heating pad Flannel cover I found, just makes the perfect setup for Ultimate comfort.

I still don't understand why people are spending so much on a portable high back camping chair.

I found a "Shallwe" brand that weighs the same as the Trekology or the Helinox. For less than half the price and it has the exact same design if not better than the competition. And at just 2 pounds it is definitely worth the price.

The helix is great, but I did find that it bottoms out when shifting around - and I am not a big guy. However when laying on my back or side it was *extremely* comfortable.

I use my pack as a pillow with the hood of my sleeping bag to soften it up a tad. Self inflateable mat is the go too.
