I have it and it's totally worth it. Keyboard feels great. The protection it provides with the covered edges and the flap makes me feel comfortable with it. Only complaint I would have is the weight but you get used to it. Otherwise, totally recommend!

Such a good comprehensive review. Weighing out the pros and cons in consideration of your primary use case is awesome. More reviewers should do that. Thanks, Chris!

For the price, I'm willing to put up with the bulk.

As an owner of the iPad Pro 11” and this folio keyboard I would highly recommend it. The position of using it is very acceptable given the viewing angle it presents. As far as using the iPad in portrait mode goes, you can either fold it over or have it open like a book. Yes, it’s heavier than the apple one but the positive trade off is the cost and protection side of things. Surely for a piece of valuable tech who’d not want to protect it and have the convenience of a nice comfortable keyboard with backlight?

Since the first iteration of the iPad Pro, I have been on a quest for the best keyboard. For the first iPad Pro, I settled on the Logi(tech) slim combo case, which I had a love/hate relationship with. In the end, the typing experience (including backlit keys) was so good, I overlooked the bulk (most of the time). However, the other aspects, like kickstand, removable keyboard deck, Apple connector compatibility, function key row, well-designed buttons, snug Apple Pencil loop, etc. played a big part in the overall positive experience. With this iteration, I am struck by the flimsy nature of the keyboard deck-case connection, the unwieldy button-press-areas, lack of Apple connector compatibility and therefore need to charge, and the lack of variable viewing angle flexibility, so apart from what I am sure will be a good typing experience (including backlit keys, function key row, Apple Pencil slot), the overall experience for me would seem to be somewhat lacking and therefore the added weight and bulk would absolutely grate at me. I therefore totally agree with you regarding your use-case scenario being very important in the suitability of this case. For now, I use both the Apple keyboard folio when I need extreme portability and the Apple Magic Keyboard in a Canopy case when I need the typing feel. I still do miss the backlit keys though, but I have to live with that.

Thank you for this review. I’ve had an iPad Air 2 with the equivalent Logitech Slim Folio for 4 years, and I still love it, writing this on it. I love that I can keep the iPad in the Folio, whether i want to type, or just work in screen only mode. The keyboard is really great, it makes the iPad feel and work like a “real” computer. Now that this is out for the new iPad Pro, I can consider switching... ;)

I’ve started with the Logitech keyboard case and at first I thought the bulkiness would bother me, but’s growing on me. I am one of those who spends most of their time writing, and the multi-task button in the top left has come in pretty handy as I switch from app to app. The slim design of Apple’s keyboard is still appealing to me, so I may end up getting that one as well to see how it feels, but so far the Logitech is pretty nice.

Bought one of these but returned it because it was just as thick and chunky and the cheap alternative I bought for the 2018 standard iPad.

This is definitely better for typing on than the Apple keyboard and adds extra protection but it just defeated the advantage of the iPad for me. With the Logitech on there it’s way thicker than my Surface Go and no longer really feels like an iPad

The slim combo for the old iPad Pro is the best iPad case ever, it protects your iPad, you can connect the keyboard whenever you want to type, you can adjust the incline. But idk why Logitech did a new case that is bigger than it is.

I think i would buy this and keep it for typing and switch to my cheap folio cover when im not typing.I find it more convenient this way since im not typing all the time.

I picked up the Logitech Slim Folio Pro today. I love it. The typing is amazing, and so much better than the Brydge.

Good Balanced Review- just ordered this for my iPad Pro 512 w/cellular which should arrive any day now. Had the Slim Folio with an iPad 2 Air and really liked it...

I did purchase this keyboard and it’s extremely functional. Now, I did recently buy the baseus 6-1 hub and it’s not fitting at all! I have it laying to the side so the “use” is not what I anticipated. That right top bumper gets in the way!!! But I’m in a mixed bag. When I do type on my lap this one is perfect while the Apple keyboard bends slightly. That constant bending does damage to the connectors. Just my personal thoughts!!!!

I am ultimately sticking with the Smart Keyboard, because it seems to be the only option which lets you easily attach and detach the iPad from the keyboard. That's the bugbear I have had with every other keyboard case I have tried. They are great if you want iOS in a conventional laptop form factor, but it's a pain when you want just the tablet portion.

Nice and thorough review. I got the Logitech «slim» Folio after discussing it with a colleague who has the Apple version. While the logitech does add way too much bulk, it makes me feel a bit better about dragging the iPad Pro with me at work and on travel. The fact that it remains standing when used on my lap or even lying down is a bonus for me. But I might end up buying the Apple version eventually, because I do miss the «light and slim» feel.

I only just got the Logitech keyboard for my iPad Pro 11 as I am a uni student and typing in lectures is a bit stressful. But I love it! I’d much rather spend less on a keyboard case that protects my iPad more but put up with the bulk. I have my normal Apple folio case for when I’m gaming or just chilling. Perfect balance.
