Which one of these would be on your shortlist? Did I miss any good keyboard options for iPads in my list?

I opted for the Combo Touch for my M1 iPad Air but I got the previous version with the pseudo fabric texture, which I prefer, and I saved money to boot.

This was so helpful! And you know what I loved? The sound tests and the fact that you said right in the beginning of the video- do you need this? I'll save you some time. NO.

I watched the entire video because it was good, but I hate it when you're watching something to get opinions and it takes 2 years to get to the point or the information you want to know. Thanks so much! This was very helpful!

I think Logitech’s combo gives the best of both worlds and offers a little more protection than Apple’s Magic Keyboard.
I keep my iPad in a case and have a Logitech keys to go (the older version) portable keyboard should I feel the need to type rather than scribble with the Apple Pencil.
Another great video Mark!

I have and highly recommend the Procase line of keyboards for ipads. They cost around $50 and are well worth it.

I have them for my 12.9” ipad pro and ipad mini. They come with a case that includes a cover and the keyboard is attached to the cover magnetically. This is great, because if you don't need the keyboard at that moment, you can leave it behind and use the case/cover without it.... The cases also have a protective space for your pencil so that it can charge while packed and won’t get lost in your bag.

For my 11" iPad Pro, I have the magic keyboard, it is ok, but I wish I could flip it all the way around to use the iPad without a keyboard instead of having to remove it....

Thanks @ThatMarkGilroy - you helped me choose my iPad recently and now you've helped me choose a keyboard!

After a few years of using the Apple keyboard/case combo, spend $70au on an off market keyboard case (F17) that protects my case and the keyboard is amazing for typing with back lighting. It is plastic though.. still can’t be happier.

I use an MX Keys Mini for my older 12.9” iPad Pro. I like the fact that you can separate the keyboard from the iPad to use it at eye height, which the Bluetooth-connected Logitech setup doesn’t allow. Plus you can connect other devices. And I won’t have to get a whole new outfit when you upgrade iPads, which you do when you have a combo case + keyboard that only works with that specific iPad

For my I love the lap ability of the Magic Keyboard but the viewing angle is too steep and uncomfortable for semi long periods of use. Plus I’ve dropped my iPad and need to use a case. It’s crazy expensive too. I’ve also used the Logitech combo touch. Lap ability is ok and viewing angles are also better and it comes with a case.

What I ended up going with was an Amazon random brand Bluetooth keyboard that resembles the combo touch along with a stand. The trackpad isn’t as responsive but not really noticeable and you have to charge the keyboard every now and then.

I don’t think there’s a perfect, compact, setup.

I've beaten you on price for a BT keyboard and mouse - 7 quid but there is no pound sign only the $. This was from temu!

I tested both the Apple Magic Keyboard and the Logitech Comb on my iPad Air M2. I love the Logitech, especially for the freedom of detaching the keyboard. However, I’ve noticed an issue with the Logitech keys (particularly in the middle of the keyboard) feeling loose—they sink more than usual when typing. This isn’t an issue with the Apple Magic Keyboard; its keys feel much sturdier, like a proper keyboard.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Logitech? I bought mine from Amazon, and I’m wondering if the ones sold at the Apple Store might have better quality, especially regarding the keyboard. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I used k380. Works well and can pair with multiple devices.

I think there is a lot of people that prefer a Case that is rising up the iPad but want a portable easy to carry keyboard for those occasional keyboard tasks that might come up but want to keep their footprint as low as possible. Have you had a look at the foldable options? Are there any good ones? I feel like most of them don‘t have the quality and functionality I am looking for.

So iI have the iPad Pro M4. And like you stated I decided against the keyboard from apple. Surprisingly enough I went on to Temu and brought a case and keyboard combo for only $30 bucks. Connects by Bluetooth, has a trackpad that is also very responsive no lag that I’ve noticed, it’s rechargeable so I don’t have to deal with batteries. 7 color backlight as well. Save your money. Also the case wraps around the iPad as well

You have overlooked and not mentioned the various keyboards weight. For example the Apple magic keyboard weight almost the same as the iPad. Making the combo very heavy. Even if I put the price aside this is the most annoying thing in Apple iPad keyboard solution. Not to mention that there is no place for the Apple Pencil

I have the iPad Pro 11 with magic keyboard and I semi hate it. It is OK at home when you don’t move it. However if I go on vacation I think twice if to take it since the combo is so heavy that I prefer my iPhone 15 pro max. So I find most of the time that my iPad 11 pro is doing nothing. Also the fact that there is no place for a pen makes the Apple case so so since it case me not to use the pen (if I don’t force myself)

I've got the Logitech keyboard case for my iPad pro 4th gen which is fabric and a lot better than the rubber version, but it does make it heavy

Where's the real budget king Logitech Pebble Keys 2 K380s?

Magic keys are good, but they don't offer much protection. if your iPad accidentally fell down, or smth it won't protect. personally. i prefer equipping my iPad with a protective case like spigen tough armor, and then using K380s for their keyboard.

the only problem with separate keyboard is the space it will take on your bag. some people loves travelling light. with only small bags.. and only the magic keyboard and the logitech combo touch can fit in the small bags bcs they pretty much only the size of the iPad. sadly, most of the keyboards mentioned here won't fit small bags.

Edit: i've recently sold my iPad and switched to samsung tab s9. but the experience in this particular case is pretty much the same, with samsung has their overpriced premium samsung keyboard cover as opposed to apple's magic keyboard. a separate bluetooth keyboard is better because then we can put a protective case to the tablet and get rid of the keyboard when we don't need it. oh and i also one of those ppl who likes to travel with small messenger briefcase that fits my samsung tab.
