Effective from 1982, trying to develop the policies and programs to promote the learning, social participation, and also the health of the older adults, we have seen rapid development. Parents set up examples to their children. How (well) you treat your father and mother, your children see and remember, that's the way how they will treat you in the future. This is a precious hand-down from generation to generation.

Think over the years, that is what I observe too when I visit china for tour, progression very fast. Most retire happily... good for them. :)

I wish what I perceive as respect for the elderly is what was true for our planet in general. I as elderly do not want to be secluded but included in the community. so I can give what I know back to the world. My neighbor is very biased to say it mildly. I talk to her through the wall rarely she bangs and bashes at me. I know she hear's me. I tell her I wish she would talk to me not about me.She has been my neighbor for 5 years. and so really what I was gonna say was: I sometimes here her struggling and I think may be I can help her and maybe we could be friends. Once she was in a tither about her holiday decorations and attaching them. I talked through the wall she ignored me. I went and got my staple gun and made sure it was loaded and went to her door. She wouldn't open so I peeked in her window and yelled hey and tried to offer her my help and she shooed me away. Yesterday I heard her son coughing again and said to herSome food grade hydrogen peroxide a couple drops in distilled water would greatly aid him.! I have some! Because of it's unstable nature when consumed it releases oxygen into the body. The next day she did a loud talk about me she likes to walk by my window on the phone speaking unflateringly about me to someone. probably someone at housing talking there needs to be some where else for people like me how I should be in assisted living. . I think this strange attitude of O your old so what good are you, but to laugh at and call names such as the witch. Is fadding out with the new generation but there is a whole bunch of these youngness that are in-between and very superficial and gullible. to group think.

I'm living in New Zealand where the retirement age is 65 for now and maybe 67 in the near future, I have often seen people keep working at their 70's, high mortgage and living costs, low pension people just cannot afford to retire

Unless you're a displaced elderly rural who has to survive growing vegetables on squatted lands while ghost towns are erected around them as statues to the great national debt burden. No, .. all is not well in China, though there have been massive improvements over the past few decades. How about adding the migrant workers without Hukou to the stats?

Absolutely brilliant, it’s wonderful to see China looking after its people, unfortunately you have to compare China’s elderly care system to what we have in Britain, death rates are spiralling down in Britain and America.This should cause a public outcry, but as usual complacent ignorant brits will carry on thinking about brexit, not thinking that MPs should be publicly flogged for the disgraceful way they’ve allowed our country to deteriorate since brexit has been on the agenda, scheming MPs were allowed to totally disregard the will of the people. That’s why Britain is the laughingstock of the world.

Maybe true, but most off my Chinese friends are not interested in looking after there parents, pay them a pension and they don't need there children to look after them....
