You are an honest person. This kind of faults are common for a 30 years old vehicle. I am glad that you taught a lesson to these who repair by guessing. Troubleshooting is not an easy job.

It's always good to know those small details like that. Little things like that can be a Headache. Great job. ✔️

Good fix! Just replaced a faulty UHEC fusebox on a 2010 Sierra 2500, 6.6. No wipers complaint. $600 fusebox was the cause. lol. Good ole test point 95 (located atop of the box) helped with diag.

That is the difference between a TECHNICIAN and a "mechanic"( parts changer) good job

Man, I work on bleeding edge EVs now but I miss the days of working on 90s vehicles. That’s why I keep a few around. It feels good to fix them every so often. It’s like going back to the basics.

Had that with a new Ford that I bought in the late 1980’s. Took my new car on a long drive to see my parents and the main beam kept dropping out leaving me driving for several seconds in darkness. No local Ford agency open at the weekend so I looked at the fuse box and observed that tapping the main beam relay caused the problem. It amounted to sloppy installation and testing at the factory even though it was an easy fix.

Ive had this issue with aftermarket relay holders with cheap, thin crimp connectors. Wouldn't expect it from an oem. Good catch, Mike

Always check fuses and relays before busting out the wrenches.

Really appreciate these "this is what we found" videos. Ive got a 2000 cherokee and they all like to over heat a little as they age but this is a much less common issue, at least as far as I am aware.

LOVE that you're shoving vids of this old jeep. I'm trying to buy one. Mine was stolen as I was in Miami relocating. The high speed chase made national news. I saw it on CNN from Coral Gables. I was like, "That sure looks like my Jeep. Nah, the crash occurred in Southfield. My Jeep's in Detroit, on Wayne State's campus!" Nope, not anymore it wasn't! Next thing I know - I was contacted by atty Michael Bolton, lol!!!! That was almost 20 years ago *sigh*
