Welcome to this video for sample images of the Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro lens for Nikon cameras.

This lens is an excellent choice for photographers who are looking for an affordable telephoto zoom lens that also has a macro capability. With a zoom range of 70-300mm, this lens is perfect for capturing sports, wildlife, and portraits. It's also great for macro photography, as it has a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2, which allows you to get up close and personal with your subject.

One of the standout features of this lens is its APO (Apochromatic) glass. This specialized glass helps to minimize chromatic aberration, which can cause color fringing and reduce image sharpness. As a result, the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro lens produces sharp, vibrant images with excellent color reproduction.

This lens also features a minimum focusing distance of just 95cm (37.4 inches), which allows you to get closer to your subject than you would be able to with a typical telephoto zoom lens. And with a maximum aperture of f/4-5.6, this lens can produce pleasing bokeh (background blur) when used at its widest aperture settings.

The build quality of this lens is also impressive, with a solid construction that feels well-made and durable. The zoom and focus rings are smooth and easy to operate, and the lens mount is made of metal for added stability.

Overall, the Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro lens for Nikon is an excellent choice for photographers who want a versatile, high-quality telephoto zoom lens with macro capability. Its APO glass, close focusing distance, and solid construction make it a great value for its price point.

Got one for my Pentax K70 crop sensor. Great.

Seems like you could also do some "semi" macros with it? How far can one go into Detail with this lens?

The lens is ugly, clunky, and sometimes searches for focus. However, I've been using this lens for 15 years, often professionally, and over the past few years I've been shooting fast moving wildlife in very low light conditions and have had some great results. If you take your time to get to know and work with this lens it can be a real asset. It's very affordable and often overlooked and disregarded..
