You have such a healthy viewpoint on your birth plan & breastfeeding. I’ve seen so, so many women disappointed after things didn’t “follow the plan” but it’s all so unpredictable! As long as you and baby are happy that’s all that matters!

I’m a postpartum nurse and your mentality is great! I’ve seen so many moms spiral into PPD/PPA because of the pressure to breastfeed. Don’t let anyone dictate your choices, a happy momma will help keep a happy baby. Good luck with everything and remember to be kind to yourself postpartum, you’ll be doing the best you can and that’s all anyone can ask of you.

Two things!
1. As someone who really wanted a water birth, unmedicated but ended up high risk and unable to: epidural is AMAZING and I'm so happy I ended up getting it. Your plan is great. If you'd like to get an idea of what other things you may or may not want in your birth I highly recommend Jen Hamilton's birth vibes template!
2. Check with your insurance which breastpumps you can get for free through it! almost all insurance plans in the US will pay for a good quality pump like the Spectra for example.

I have several new moms in my circles and it seems that lots of them are opting to pump and bottle feed. As a mom who exclusively breastfed, I have to say that pumping and Bottle feeding is really more work than just nursing directly. I hope it works out for you - I found it very rewarding and super easy once you get in the groove. If not, formula is amazing too and you’ll still get all the same feeding time snuggles 💜

India way to go you for speaking your mind and stressing how EVERY woman is different, EVERY pregnancy is different and whatever you/they choose is ok.
I don't know where I saw it, but the cutest nursery wall I've seen had a massive giraffe that was looking over the head of the crib. ❤

I am soo happy you don't add any more anxiety in an already demanding situation like a pregnancy. Continue to take care of yourself and the baby! You are doing a great job!

My sister-in-law felt like a bad mother when she couldn't breast feed correctly. Other mothers were giving her guilt trips for not trying harder. I wasn't a mother at the time, BUT I told her that her baby would be better with a happier, more loving mother using organic formula then having an unhappy mother in pain all the time just so she could make everyone happy. Moral of the story: YOU DO what's best for you and your child!

You are glowing! Your curls framing your face are on point. So pretty. I'm glad you are having an easy going attitude about all the details. I think your plan is perfect and going home with a healthy baby is the whole point of doing whatever needs to happen! Such a healthy attitude ❤

Successful breastfeeding is possible for most women but most women don’t have the support that they need. Building your support system early and learning about how to establish the nursing relationship in the first few weeks will set you up for success!

Breastfeeding is a touchy subject because it is far beyond just feeding your baby, which of course is so critical. But beyond this, beyond the science of why it’s healthier, it is the foundation to establishing a loving bond with your child. It is the safest place for a baby to be at the breast. It helps you cope with motherhood. When the baby latches and begins to nurse, you are flooded with oxytocin and feel joy, a sigh of relief and the most warm and loving feelings towards your baby. It is truly a mysterious thing and a blessing from God. It is worth exhausting all efforts to maintain the connection. The first two weeks are so painful, but if you can endure, you and your baby will be rewarded.

An interesting thing most women don't know is when we lose a fallopian tube due to an ectopic pregnancy, we think we can only conceive then every other month. That is not true. Our bodies are so crazy that when we ovulate on the side of the lost tube, the tube on the other side can "swing over" and catch the egg. I lost my left tube and knowing I was ovulating on the left side that month, assumed I couldn't conceive that month, but I did. My OB and perinatologist explained how that happens, which blew my mind. Another YouTuber, Let's Talk IBD, who lost her tube after an ectopic pregnancy ruptured following an IUI early this year, did the same. Her opposite tube caught the egg, and she is now in her 2nd trimester. So chances of conception are dropped a bit, but not by 50% as we would assume.

We’re only a year apart but in total different stages of our lives and I still really enjoyed watching this! It’s so fun and interesting. I usually love your videos and it’s just cool to get to watch you go through this. I feel like I keep saying this in every baby video you upload but I’m so happy for you so I’ll say it again… congratulations ❤

Very selfishly im so excited to see how your hair goes through pregnancy and motherhood. My hair texture changed and became wavy curly 2c/3a with my second baby. I've been binging wavy curly videos for the last few weeks coming to terms with the fact that i now have to maintain my hair "properly" which is sometimes challenging with an infant. I'm hoping to have another baby and pregnancy is rough on me so doing hair through all that feels a bit daunting atm but i feel inspired by your journey to help keep me motivated to keep my hair well done as a form of relaxation and self care because i do feel so much better when it looks nice

I love your attitude regarding others opinions as to what you should do. I remember telling a close relative the name I had chosen and them telling me they hated the name. I couldn’t use it after that knowing someone would not like it but I was so upset that they even gave their opinion. So less information is better. So happy for you and your husband!

You are going to be the best mommy. Best advice i have for a birth plan is to be open. You never know what is going to happen and what you or baby needs. As long as the goal is that baby arrives healthy and you come out of it well, that should ultimately be the goal 😊

I know you’re not sharing where you are in weeks- and I respect that! Just wanted to say a lot of my friends were saying they felt their baby at 12 weeks, 16 weeks. I think I was hyper vigilant looking for it as I never felt anything that early. Then at 20 weeks it was like a little fish turned around in my belly! My sister felt her baby at 22 weeks. Your baby could still be small and your placenta helps soften it, but one day it will be unmistakable and they’ll happen more and more from there! Also for me they were never intense or strong and I gave birth to a super wiggle boy so don’t worry about it! Congrats!

You look so beautiful!! With my first baby I was bound and determined that I was going to breastfeed. I triedfor 8 weeks and we had a lot of various problems. Because I wanted it so bad and it wasn't working I ended up having some postpartum depression and my baby bonded more to my husband. So it made my postpartum very hard and I missed the newborn stage basically. Totally regret it! With my second I said I would try but if it didn't work I'm going right to the bottle and I had a wonderful postpartum, even though I wasn't able to breastfeed my second. I love your mindset going into breastfeeding! It works for some and not for others. I definitely believe it's not worth missing the newborn stage for it. It goes so fast! I have such a strong bond with my second, so you can definitely still get that bond even with bottle feeding. So happy for you and continued prayers during your pregnancy!
