The Singer Midgets had been in the United States since 1918, so they knew English. The only Munchkins who used their own voices were the two who said to Dorothy, "We thank you very sweetly for doing it so neatly, " and "You killed her so completely that we thank you very sweetly."

Clara Blandick did ALL of Aunt Em's dialogue; she had developed that yodel-like call when playing Aunt Polly in the movies _Tom Sawyer_ and _Huckleberry Finn._

I heard stories about the munchkins. & how they caused a lot of mayhem in their hotels. I heard also there was a lot of groping happening too. Evidently studio head Mayer liked to put his hand on the left breast of Judy Garland also. I also heard the snow falling in the fields was pure asbestos. There were many problems that befell the whole production. 🙏💓

I met Meinhardt Raabe in Chittenango, NY (birthplace of L. Frank Baum) back in the '90's.

Jerry Maren, who played one of the Lollipop Guild, passed away in 2018 at age 98. He also played in an episode of "The Odd Couple."
