British Airways Short-haul Economy Review

In this video we'll jump back aboard with British Airways courtesy of one of their Airbus A320 aircraft on a flight from London Gatwick through to Bordeaux, France.

It's been some time since I've had the chance to feature their short haul offering on the channel and equipped with a brand new camera, there was no better time to do it!

I've long been a fan of the BA short haul offering. For my money, they're probably just about the best in Europe or at the very least, tied with the best offerings. It's been good to see in recent times complimentary offerings around the wifi (messaging) and snacks/drinks too. The days of the Cruz era do seem to be firmly in the rear view mirror which for passengers has got to be a good thing.

Absence of in-seat charging noted on this flight so that is indeed a bit of a watch out on their Gatwick fleet. Again, cleaning is an issue and something they need to get a little better at.

Very much hope you enjoyed the video, do remember to drop it a like if so, it does really help the channel!

Nice video. The cookies and free glass of water is what differentiates BA Euroflyer from easyJet on this route. I'm looking forward to your BA First trip report next week!

I also do all possible to always fly BA out of Gatwick.
Sitting in their club lounge with that magnificent runway view with a glass of bubbly is just to die for 😊

I feel like we're settling for too little over here. I flew a domestic flight with Turkish Airlines recently. They offer a complementary sandwich and a hot/soft drink for the 45 minute flight whilst BA gives you tiny bag of cookies for even 4-5 hour flights. All of their planes have IFE screens with impressive selection of recent films and tv shows. They have a younger fleet with cleaner airplanes. The price difference between their budget options and the flag carrier is small considering the difference in service. Here, the price of a BA flight is quite different than the likes of Easyjet but I can't really see much that justifies it. I wish we had at least one good airline based here.

The a320 neo economy reminds me of easyjet

Looks a reasonable flight but totally agree some of BA long and short haul aircraft are really showing there age 22+ years, especially comparing to some of the low cost carriers who's fleets are so much newer, but for me I still prefer to travel with BA
Looking forward to the 1st class review, and as other comments please don't speed up the take off.

I simply love BA, in my opinion its a sturdy airline, dependable and you know what to expect. Maybe no glitz/glamour, but super service. Or maybe I just like them because they are British. 😅
Is there any chance of new content on the CPT-LHR route with BA? Specifically was very dated and am wondering if they have upgraded yet?

A220 looks nice!

My original AF A220 aircraft booking is now downgraded to E190 (served by HOP, ) and they don’t even block your next seat in J class…😢
Hopefully their catering won’t be downgraded…

Hmm!!...Do BA contract out their aircraft cleaning or do the cabin crew on those short hop quick turnaround Euro flights get out the hoover and pledge??..ha-ha! (other products are available) I wish you would leave the sound on for the engines till take off at least....it cut out, we got a bit of silence then of an anticlimax...I felt robbed of the sensation of power, thrust and lift!!!

Most suitable non stop gatwick to Europe by ba than Heathrow, not worth flying from Heathrow to Europe unless anyone flying from outside Europe to Europe via London airport.
