I don't know if this is a thing in the Navy, but in the Army, one of the parts of the Soldier's creed is "I will never leave a fallen comrade", so I agree with you on Cyclone's decision.

I noticed that the cockpits of these Rhinos have a button on the left side for Countermeasures dispensing, but, in the real jet, the countermeasures button is on the throttles, instead of being located on the side of the cockpit.

I like your tactics Max Ryan, the realism, I wish they used you for technical tactics advice. If Maverick had known of you, he would have requested for you as the pilot in the F-22 SAR package with the Ace, Robin Olds mustache :) . Back In the gulf the Airforce relied on the Navy to cover their end of the no fly zone.

If you look closely at those SAMs, there is nowhere radars, maybe a little flaw in the script? But I love the chaos in that scene. Also, I keep questioning myself, why they didn't flip, like they got into that valley? I'm probably nitpicking now?

Yeah, Mover made the same comment about air support for the strike mission. Where were the F-35's if not the F-22's. ideal mission for either of those planes. Even if you couldn't get real planes, CGI the Raptors or Lightnings to cover the Strike Flight.
