intrastate DOT insurance
Im in the trucking industry since 1998. Owner operator till 2020. Not sure who told you you must have a MC when running locaĺ in your state. The only time you need MC number when you're crossing statelines. My semi have for hire TAGS NC dot number insurance that's it. I get work because im only runing NC.



Crossing State or National Borders

Interstate means crossing state or national borders, so if you are planning on going through more than one state or country to deliver your loads, then you’ll most likely need your interstate operating authority. MC

Do you know how much they get per stop. They only give $45-75 per stop at mattress account which seems low to me. Seems like 75-100 per stop would be more reasonable for the weight of some of these mattresses and putting together the heavy a** bedframes you carry inside. They give you $100 per stop for rescue account so they can pay that as the rate.

The Lowes distribution in my city uses Werner, do I just use this same process for a different company? Also how much money should one have set aside to start running trucks, or is getting a business loan a better alternative?

What permits you need for this job DOT is telling me I need a tc95-1 form but the company told me that they have never heard that before

I have to do a consultation real soon like next 2 weeks... I've been driving since 2016 class B and class A permit. That being said l was starting my shii this year until l notice stalling with economy and research displaying the back and forth with trucking. I don't have MC or DOT. I need direction for, my needs and wants with own freaking business.

For the cargo van side of things i went to their site to apply for contractors but they dont have delivery in their drop down menu when choosing what services you will provide. Any insight? Ik onerail is another company that provides delivery but they never answer.
