Worked perfectly. On Windows XP I used MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition to enlarge the boot partition. Thanks for a most useful video.

It was great of you to take this slowly, step by step. Very nice video.

Great Video! Definitely a round about way of doing it (there are tools to do such) but if someone doesn't have tools (or money for them) and they have enough hdd space great way of doing it. I had to do this on a couple occasions on some small business dev environments that did not have enough hard disk space. Nice thing about the command line if you run it in "administrator mode" you can pretty much drop a file anywhere ( netowrk or External USB) might take longer especially with VMDKs that are like 100+GB ha ha. Great vid.

I see the problem, the last thing you typed on the clonehd command was -format .vdi

Nice video. I did all steps. It shows me, a virtual size of 20.00 GB and a actual size of 8, 55 GB. When I start the VirtualMachine(Windows XP), does my storage C: only have 10 GB.  I am not sure, if I did everything right.I wanted to resize my storage from 10 GB to 20 GB.

My vboxmanager did not work with the vdi file. it had the same error message as the vmdk file did when using the modifyhd command

I have VM version 4.2 and did exactly what you showed...but the clone command came back with cloned as VDMI in the command prompt, but in the directory where VM's are it shows .vdi file type??? so then when I try to --resize that cloned file called .vdi, it says does not support VDMI???what is up with that?? my vm is turned off while doing this on host machine.

how am I supposed to type --format di? That part really confused me is it supposed to be spaced or what?

You should really think about updating the video to reflect the new variables that are now incorporated into the updated versions of Oracle's VirtualBox.

For instance, clonehd will not work, clonemedium will.
modifyhd will not work, but modifymedium will.
