A buddy of mine told me about rubber in a can you could spray on your car. I thought he was nuts. A year later, I'm active daily on the DYC forum, I've dipped numerous vehicles, too many sets of wheels and a handful of emblems. Just about everyday, I find something around the house that I feel like I need to dip.

YES! Just alligned into that beautiful line of dipped audi's with my black matte A4 B7 Avant :D Without DYC I would not have known about this great possibility of changing my car's look AND protect the paintjob underneath from any influences. Best greetings from northern germany !

Just did my 2000 Jeep XJ. Only problem I had was texturing.
Which of course was because I wasn't controlling the spray and let it spray from the top of the car to the hood then from the fenders to the hood. I sprayed on a layer of paint thinner and it actually helped take some of the texturing off. But, best thing to do is control that sprayer. Color I did was Gun metal gray with 5 bottles of blue tint. DYC and Fonzi are awesome to business with. I just might go with a crazy color next time like a Blaze something. My laptop is next  :-)

Purple is not one of the most common of the color selections but it is available. It will not be glossy but there is a Plasti Dip Glossifier you can spray over it to make it glossy. Trust me. I work at the place that makes and fills Plasti Dip. I am up to my neck all day in the stuff!

It's more likely that you sprayed the coats on too heavy. It's important that you spray it on in very light coats, this helps reduce that texture.
