Tesla Model Y and 3 - The Absolute BEST Phone Charger / Holder!

I have tested countless phone chargers and phone holders in our Tesla Model Y and Model 3. Although there are some decent options out there, this one is by far the best one you can get for your Tesla, in my opinion.

I have had this phone charger installed on our Tesla Model Y for over a year now and have really enjoyed having it. There are 2 big benefits to this particular one over the other options out there. First, the location is ideal for using Waze, or any other apps on your phone while driving. Next is that it is integrated and sits firm on the steering column. This means that unlike other phone holders I have tested, this one sits planted and does not have your phone flapping away while driving down the road.

Because this particular unit is integrated into the existing Tesla layout of your Model Y and Model 3, there are no exposed wires, or brackets that look out of place. Nicely integrated in the steering column makes this particular charger look like it was placed there from the factory. And having had this in the car and used heavily, I can attest to its durability at this point.

I have had this installed for 6 months and love it. I have the S3XY buttons and the program that comes with them is my favorite program to have running. I only bought two of the S3XY buttons. One behind my steering wheel to switch between Chill and Sport in my M3P and the other on the dash behind the main display for the glove compartment.

Blocks the AC though. Same as the other accessories that block the AC, in FL its a deal breaker, looks good, works good, but blocks the air, blah! Peak design makes a amazing magnetic holder that goes to the left of the wheel, super minimal, super strong...

I still have the last one you recommended and the center console still looks nice and bright, but the one from the dash has darkened up a lot, especially on the right side.

I'm curious how this would work with Android Auto. I also assume the air vent in the back would help to keep the phone cool while it charges. Have you had any issues with getting AC while you drive in FL?

This accessory looks integrated into the vehicle, not an after market stick-on. Do they make one for 2022 model S? Strange that you demonstrate it replacing Tesla GPS when I thought Tesla is better than most.

For the past few years, Mercedes has used cheap mapping software which makes numerous mistakes. When mentioning problem to two sales people, they said most customers use phone AP maps instead of car’s GPS. My response was, “when there’s a problem with the $3000 entertainment system, are you going to tell me to bring a boom box?”

For Tesla owners is the phone holder mainly so that drivers can use Google Maps or Apple Maps? Because in every other use case you would probably just use the big tablet right?

I had mine installed for 2 years. But I finally decided to remove it from my car. It really gets in the way of the air conditioner. Just a heads up it was not worth it.
