This is obviously a bit exaggerated, but the traveler's curse is real... How do you guys feel about this?

I love travel but I also realise how much I love the coziness of home. When I was younger, I wanted to see it all. Now, that I’m older, I travel but coming home is so much sweeter.

Very correct what u said, a lot of people feel depressed and anxiety by being in the same place, for example here in the United States international people wish they could visit their home country but they cant because of alien status or they feel insecure the havent been there in a long time, or some people are just afraid to get out of the same routine.😢😢😢

Ah, I so relate to this! The past two years I travelled a lot and this year I managed to plan trips to be well spread over 2023. Funny enough this has also been a year of sadness for me since every time I come back, I need a few weeks to readjust to my normal non super exciting life to then leave to a new adventure once again! But I love travelling too much.. I’m not willing to stop 😅

I, too, want to fuck up my life forever. In a good, fun way, of course. I’m basically the opposite of you two - I’ve been living in the place I was born in my entire life (32 years at this point). I do feel like the next chapter of my life will entail lots of traveling only because I’ve been settling down for so long, I’m actually CRAVING for a change of pace.

Actually you two have inspired me so much. I’m also gay (and vegan), so it’s really cool to see other gay and vegan guys living it up the way you do. So thank you for that!

Just keep traveling! I also think it’s a product of youth. I loved seeing new places and living in different places. But once I had a family, staying put and being close to family took the priority. Plus you get tired when you’re older.

For me who has travelled to many countries, travelling made me able to see other places, how they live BUT it didn't ruin my life because wherever I go, there's no place like home. And now hsppy to settle in my country where I was born because I've passed the wanderlust.

I used to warn an adventurous friend "stop travelling Karina! No good will come from it." Ha ha She didn't listen and neither did I. I also tell people that travelling makes a person less relatable with every trip as your anecdotes become more obscure and interesting with time. Never say "You have been to Paris?, Haven't you ?!" People hated that. Thanks for soldiering on Oskar and Dan 😁

Not really. It depend on if you appreciate things more than you miss things. We choose. A traveler always has the option to return so they can look forward to the future destinations going forward. The main problem with travel is loneliness and lack of a "home". That's why most set up a home base then explore from there in that region. This anchors them for at least several months. Then you develop your social circle in that home base.

I definitely still struggle with where to live after living abroad from 2 1/2 years and traveling to more than 30 countries. Presently living in nyc but I think about moving back to London. However, nyc wages are much higher in comparison to London.
