My God, , please,  don't let it.

That would be incredibly boring unless they're programmed to slam into each other like a NASCAR race

It's put in a cockpit so a human can drive it.😈

A part of future racing, yes, future of racing, no.

I love the look of this. If this works out maybe we can get some more truly unlimited Can-Am style racing back.

A race car/any car/vehicle you can not get in and enjoy = Worthless

This should not be presented as something to replace another, this is new totally different way of doing things. It is not made replace other race cars, but to help develop things for people who just suck at driving. And also to help us create better AIs.

I really like this idea of let's say "engineerings racing" but I don't think it will ever be as popular as the drivers racing we have today but you never know. Maybe the FIA will become even more senile m than they already are and ban all types of driver based motor sports in the future

The future of racing? It may be a curiosity for a while, but I don't see it as a long term trend insofar as televised or in-person attended interest is concerned. The reason is simple: the lack of direct human involvement, to wit, *THE DRIVER.* Without that, you're looking at short-term deal at best.

Sure, it's cool ... but in the final analysis, it's the man or woman in the cockpit which really engages the audience.

If you take the human element out of sport, you take out the stories of heroism and derring do. You take out the drama, it makes it sterile.

A single-make series without drivers, where the styling of the car is more important than functional considerations. Yeah, that'll be popular!

I get it; to a point. I just don't see where the excitement factor will come from? Where the team aspect will come from and where the competitive edge will come in to play. BUT if this is going to happen, at least it looks bad ass. I want AI errors at high speed and super aggressive racing. If no driver danger, turn it up!!

I kinda want to see this kind of racing, with manufacturers trying to build the fastest robocar possible on the track. It's a good alternative to real racing, since these cars won't be held back as much with outrageous safety regulations that are the cancer of good old fashioned racing.

Awesome engineering. Beautiful design.
But it’s not a real race car ... it’s a race car drone.

Probably we'll see R/C racing on a 1:1 scale, similar to current drone racing.

Many people expressed negative thoughts to the robot/Ai racing, but robot/Ai doesn't mean there is no strategy in the racing. The robot/Ai needs to do and think the same things as the human driver does when racing: Who is the car driver behind me? what is his next step? what is my car's advantage? where is the next curve? how to cheat my opponent? how to cover my team leader's ass?

What's difference between robot and human racing? Robot/Ai has its own personality and thinking in the cockpit, and now machines learn as human being. Remember Alpha GO? It beaten all best chess players on the earth. Maybe soon we will learn, only robot racer can beat robot on the circuit.

They put the expensive "eyes" of the car in the positions that are most likely to take abuse/scratches/crashes. Maybe something to reconsider before racing.

"Racing" ? You mean watching robots race. What's the point?

It looks cool but I think the lack of driver involment even in just plain electric cars is boring as hell. We need to develop a way to make them exciting to drive.

Expensive Toy, I personally cant get excited about this. Watching computers race each other.. where is the fun in that? You need the Human element/risk to make motorsports exciting otherwise you may as well watch a computer play itself at chess.
