I just believe Apple needs to do more by introducing a one-time factory code, you can use on your iPhone even if is off, or sim is removed to knock off its networks. also, chips that can detect even if the phone is off the networks or Sim, considering it expensive nature

Can you both mark it as lost AND then erase your data? I think this would be ideal if you're certain its in a remote location and there's a chance you might not get it back. If you could do this, the message would allow someone to return it to you, but if no one does, at least all your data has been erased. If you've been backing up your phone, you could then buy another phone and restore your data to it. Thanks.

don't know the first thing about the iphone. if i ever see a lost iphone....i'll just ignore it, 'cause lots of lost iphones are assumed to be stolen phones. there is a tendency for people to report their lost iphones as 'stolen' iphones. ya pass on the blame.... how convenient.
