Hi Shriya, great talk. I am an occupational therapist by trade and a 2 timer on this very stage. Overall, this is an excellent talk. This is a subject that society has to know... since there are many causes to people being amputees. Moreover, the statistics is definitely very alarming. However, I feel that you missed a few things. First, why is occupational therapy not in the equation? Occupational therapy practitioners also work with amputees, too, in getting their lives back together, which includes education on how to use the prosthetics functionally and safely. I work in the nursing home setting and I from time to time have amputees as my patients for the day. Secondly, in the occupational therapy profession, actually there is an occupational therapist who runs a Facebook page called amputeeOT and she has her own YouTube channel as well. I think sharing that information on your presentation can be a great way to cap it on why more amputees should embrace prosthetics. Thank you.
