How to fix a HITACHI Xbox 360 Disc drive

@bonkerzmhann i already tried replacing the cable, it stills gives me the 3 red lights. I read somewhere that error 1023 only gives you 2 or just 1 light. I also have another xbox that is doing some really weird shit. It gives me error 0013 but it gives me the 3 red lights instead of the usual 2, and the fan and dvd drive are not working.

Because each motherboard is tied to the dvd it came with, with a code. This is the easiest way of transferring that code between dvd's. There are other ways but you always have to tie the new dvd to the motherboard. As for why x-box did this, possible to stop modders or maybe to limit the life of the x-box so you have to buy a new one.

this is pro "corporate" fixing right here. Keep this in mind, if you ever send in your consoles to the company (microsoft/sony) this is what they will do, and there are 2 things that will happen.

1. They will take your broken console/part and toss it in a "junk parts" pile, and send you a refurb that will have a different less serious issue.

but, if ur lucky

2. They will send it to a "distro center" and they will do just what he's doin, find a busted drive with a working part and replace.

i have that drive but for the slim and its stuck halfway out thats why im getting a new one will i still ahve to swap the pcb boards and should it just work. without any problems and do you have new slim drives not the fat xbox ones

yeah i have a problem with what I'm certain is my disk drive. this is what happens: i can play netflix and everything without sh*t happening, BUT when i play a disc game for 2-45 minutes it will randomly freeze, shut the system down, and show 2 red rings.(once again, it only happens when playing a game disc.) if i could get any suggestions that would be f%#king awesome of you.i have tinkered it and fixed my heatsyncs and dusted the whole inside.also is there supposed to be glue in the diskdrive?

they did it to stop modders basically since samsung drive were easiest to flash and they didn't want u just buying a samsung drive off ebay slap it in your xbox and have it flashed so yeah jungleflasher still gives a way around it if you know what you're doin

I dont understand why you change the board instead of just installing the brand new drive the way it comes.. you said you explain why in the descriptions but I dnt see anything in the description other than the links for face book, twitter and such.

i have HITACHI .... all u have to do is clean ur lens..and always burn DVD 2.4x speed
