Soccer AM goes hand in hand with FHM magazine and Maxim. They both appealed to the same demographic. They epitomized the lad culture which emerged from the late 90s and into the noughties. As a 20 something male, living at that golden time in history, i was literally living in heaven. I just didn't realise it at the time.

The Soccerette wasn't the start of the 'downfall' of Soccer AM. Tim Lovejoy and half the crew going was the beginning of the end

I can't believe Saturday Social replaced Soccer AM. I'd rather pull off my fingernails than watch a bunch of clueless YouTubers discuss football.

The beginning of the end started when Tim left or maybe I just got older and moved on myself. For me it was a routine of lying in bed for 3 hours on a Saturday nursing a hangover and laughing along with the show.

My secondary school language teacher was a Soccerette.
Oh Miss Simpson, you did us lads proud! One of the fittest teachers in the school doing the Soccer am catwalk. 😂

I did work experience on Soccer AM for one week in Jan, 2018. It was the week Ronaldinho retired and we had to go to Sports Direct in Isleworth, to try and get Jimmy Bullard a Barca kit. They only had shorts aged 7-8, and Fenners’ son had a Barca shirt, so we got everything together, and he managed to fit into them and we filmed the Ronaldinho crossbar trick for 4 hours in the John Arne Riise until Jimmy got tired

This vid barely scrapes the surface on the impact that Soccer AM had on the culture in the UK, from the Save Chip campaign to the whole Bouncebackability campaign man it shaped so much of football lad culture.

Around 2000-2006 was the glory years. Always watched it before leaving for football.

In fairness the soccerette seems tame compared to what is on Instagram nowadays 😮

I was on this show with Gallagher and Scott. It was a dream come true, played with my band last year. We were called FLOWVERS. Like the show, we also closed the door on the band shortly after. All the crew, the presenters and producers were so patient, fun, and eager to help out wherever they could. Bacon butties slapped as well. Live TV, nothing like that 5..4..3..2..1

With lovejoy and chamberlain, it was class. After Tim went, it went downhill very rapidly indeed. Him and HC chemistry was great, she was like one of the lads. It pushed boundaries which is what was and is needed. TV now is so bland i dont watch anything now.

Barely a mention for Helen Chamberlain and her departure from the show.
