Thanks for a very thorough review, and you are the first one I've come across who mentioned you can actually program manually as well. I've had my eye on buying this one (over EPOS) for some time now, considering the Moccamaster KGB as favoured alternative option. This EPOUR has some clear advantages with the rotating head and removable water tank for easy refill (would be very practical for my kitchen setup). However, this glass container looks very fragile especially with the glass handle. And will likely be expensive to replace once broken (as those usually are for any machine). For Moccamaster, replacement glass containers (with plastic handle) are much easier to come by having been on the market since the 1970s, and also offers the KGBT option with metal thermos.
If only Melitta offered the EPOUR with a thermos container as option, then making the purchase selection would be a no brainer for me.

I always get sour coffee using the Epour even when grinding finer and trying different coffees. What else could I try to change, to get less sour coffees with it?
In my case I always end up with a really steap cone shaped coffee bed and not a nice flat one.

We use the Epour daily. Usually for 1-2 cups at a time. But when we make a full 1 liter can the coffee tastes burnt every 3rd time or so. Even though we use the right and same doseage of coffee to water and the same beans with the same grind size. This never happens when we just make a cup or two. Do you have any idea why this could be? Do we need to hold the button to turn the Epour on before pouring water and coffee to have the "sensor" work for it to brew correctly? Or can we do it after preparing everything like in your video?

I absolutely understand if you don't know why. But I thought I should ask as we have experimented and not been able to find the reason this happens every now and then.
