In the summer of 98, I stayed with a friend at his mom's place in a little town in southern Idaho. Dusty little place, didn't much care for it. Didn't much care for the trip at the time, either--I don't think I enjoyed myself very much. Your little strip mall scene just took me back to that kinda-shitty trip, back to that dusty town in the summer of 1998, back to being 12 again. I don't wish I could go back, because you can never go back--it's not there anymore, and neither are you. Can't be living in the past. But that's okay, because *now* is a time and place that you'll some day look upon fondly. Maybe instead of waiting until it's in the past, you can look fondly upon it now? Right now, this moment you're in. You're living in a beautiful memory.

This reminds me of a little shop in Alamogordo, NM where you could get credit loans back in the day. It was a corner plaza spot on E. 10th street and N. Florida Ave. Always had a massage shop with the same workers next to it, but "new" management would come in and give it a new brand name every other year or so. Good old nostalgia for those days where times were tough post the GFC. Unfortunately it's no longer there, but the memories will always be there.

This pic looks almost verbatim to a boba shop I used to frequent in college to draw/study. The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and the vibe was immaculate.
