Xiaomi recently dropped the Redmi Note 7 smartphone with a capable chipset and a camera, which is rich in terms of megapixel counts. This is the first Xiaomi smartphone, which comes under the Redmi sub-brand. When looked into the raw Redmi Note 7 specs, the device looks compelling. But how well of the device is it, when the prices are considered? We tried to find out by having a closer look at the device.

Let’s start the things with the biggest highlight of the phone, the camera. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 camera sound really intriguing mainly because of the presence of the whopping 48MP sensor. The Redmi Note 7 48MP camera is backed by a 5MP depth sensor, which comes into action while capturing the portrait images. We are yet to perform Redmi Note 7 camera review. Nonetheless, we have a high expectation from the device on the photography front.

In the same event, Xiaomi also launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which also features a 48MP camera. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro camera possesses Sony IMX 586 sensor. We are yet to test the device out but when we do, we will surely tell you about its cameras on our in-depth Redmi Note 7 Pro review.

On the display front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ IPS panel. The screen is shielded with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to evade the vulnerabilities of cracks and scratches. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 display also has a notch on the top. But there’s nothing to worry about since the notch is very small. The notch looks identical to the typical teardrop or water-drop notch usually found on the Oppo and Vivo phones.

On the performance side of things, all the things are handled by the Snapdragon 660 chipset. You will get either 3GB, 4GB or 6GB of RAM. And talking about the memory inside, you get the choices with 32GB and 64GB of onboard storage, which can be ample for most of the users. In case of insufficiency, you can expand it further to 256GB via SD card. However, the SD card uses the SIM2 slot.

Talking about the performance, the processor and RAM setup is capable of handling almost all sorts of apps and games. Looking at the past record of SD660 chipset, the processor can handle even the graphics-intensive games. So, you can expect the Redmi Note 7 PUBG experience to be delightful. Considering the hardware configuration, we can expect the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro PUBG to run without any major lags and stutters. And as far as Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 battery is concerned, the 4000mAh battery on the device provides an awe-inspiring backup.

When we look at Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 full specifications and its price, the device looks compelling. We haven’t tested out its cameras yet and we are quite skeptic about it. Nonetheless, when inspecting all the features on the handset, the device is completely worth it.

btw I guess the base variant costs you $150 and it comes with 3 gigs of RAM, and not 4.
Edit: I've confirmed it from Android Authority, and the base variant indeed comes with 3/32.
