I like to think at-ats float down to the surface by giant parachutes.

I have to say the Legends transport is more believable. Try to imagine the new Canon drop ships ferrying some walkers down from orbit. Atmospheric entry would mess up those dangly legs hard. It looks fine for quickly moving some walkers from one part of the planet to another, but through space? It'd look silly.

Be hilarious if they could fly down from space. It'd look funny as fuck. Huge metal dogs flying down from orbit. LOL

So they were transported in a giant box? Dammit, I was expecting a more complicated explanation. Makes sense, though.

It doesn't make sense that the AT-AT's legs would be extended like that during transport. They look like they could easily fold under allowing for a much smaller transport ship.

I always figured they dropped them off similar to the Clone tank walkers in Clone Wars, guess I wasn't too far off, just bigger. Also, the Legends drop ship looks like a larger version of the Vulcan shuttle pod from ST: The Motion picture :P

People say the cannon drop ship is messed up because their dangly legs would cause problems on entry well it's very plausible to assume the shields would engulf them protecting them on entry, and also hyperspace the legs could also fold up and only extend when about to be dropped

1:11 Disney uses that dropship in their game Star Wars Commander. Mainly for transporting machines from the factory to the troop trasports (they're like the army camp)

If you've ever played Rogue squadron II for the GameCube you'll remember the legends version dropshop from the Yavin 4 mission.
