“Empathetic Ear” music video - filmed in St.Petersburg, Russia a year ago, October 2021, on a visit to see my pops. I hadn’t been back in years, and though covid was super present, I had a strong gut feeling that if I didn’t go see my dad then, something else would happen to prevent me from visiting. It was a difficult but beautiful trip, I am so glad I went for it. Though I had that instinctual feeling, I could not have known there would be this horrifying war happening now. I am thankful for my time there, with likeminded friends whose hearts are with Ukraine, too. I knew I wanted to film a music vid there but didn’t have any particular plan in motion until Andrei Tanich came to my show at the Kamchatka club and offered to film one. We were only able to meet a couple times but it all fell into place in a cool way, mostly shot at his art studios rooftop and a homemade magical train railway an hour or so out of the city.
