The only thing cuter than his "owa" is when he said that actually hurt and you responded with an adorable apologetic "aww"

When I started understanding German, I stopped thinking it was harsh.

The German language not only doesn't sound aggressive, it's easy and feels logical when learning. Also that was adorable

The "aua" actually sounded quite cute, even for a german saying it

I had a German boyfriend and I would fall asleep to him reading a book. It was calming!

My husband speaks Spanish. So he says "Ay!", when he gets hurt. A few days back he learned the german word "das Ei" and pinched me, to have a comparison, cuz he thought I'd also say "Ay!". His surprised face was so funny, when he heard me say "Aua!". 😂😂

The only people I've heard trashing German are those who have only had exposure through hollywood's slop piles of WW2 movies. So they hear "german" as it's spoken from mostly non-native or even not fluent speaking actors who are trying REALLY HARD to sound like they are an evil person.

My first job, I worked at a makeup counter at a dept store. The lead consultant was a German woman, so many germans in town would come in to buy makeup from her. Of all their different conversations I heard, I never once thought the language was harsh/aggressive/all these other derogatory adjectives given to the German language & people. (A monolingual filipino BIL even told me that german is an ugly language compared to tagalog... I don't understand the level of hate it gets)

Any language can sound aggressive or adorable depending on tone and volume (specifically the differences in volume)
