Sir Elton John stopped his farewell show in Leeds to pay tribute to a blind child in the audience. On Tuesday evening, Sir Elton John brought his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour to Leeds First Direct Arena. In an evening packed with hits there were a number of touching moments away from the music.

The most emotional was when the legend stopped his show to honour a little blind boy in the front row. Sir Elton said: “There’s a little boy in the front row called Louis. He can’t see me but he can hear me and he just broke my heart.”

Sir Elton continued: “You are so special and you made me feel so great tonight. I tell you what Louis, we are going to get your telephone number and I’ll keep in touch with you. Okay”

Elton John is not only a great performer but also a great down to earth person. Thank you Elton for all the music you gave us and all the shows you have done over the years. Thanks for all the kindness . I have been a fan since I was a child and still a huge fan to this day

I’m legally blind and I went to a farewell tour show at MSG in 2018. I asked before the show if there might be a possibility of getting a closer look towards the end of the show. MSG staff arranged with Elton’s team to have me brought to the edge of the stage for the last half hour of the show. They positioned me so I would be right in front of Elton as he finished the last song and took his final bows. It was incredible and I’m so grateful.
