The old misconception that Pokemon do anything against their will is so weird when you actually consider the context in the series. Pokeballs aren't some binding contract, they're a quality of life feature so you won't need to wonder how to get a Steelix through a door. The Pokemon can leave whenever it wants and has the power to do so. You think the fully grown combat chicken who can set his feet on fire is staying with me *because I make him?* Nah, we're just homies who like to fight other people and their homies.

I tend to think of pokemon battles like full contact sparring. Yeah they're actually hurting each other, but both are there because they want to be and know that they aren't in danger of losing their life

The Pokédex entries in Legends Arceus are so fun bc they feel like actual notes from observations rather than facts of the Pokémon. Idk if this fully conveys it, but yeah they just hit different and I like them.

It's a misconception that the Pokédex is "empty" it's actually already completed by the professors, but it is given to trainers to help their adventures. Everytime a trainer found a Pokémon, the Pokédex will show the Pokémon info based on what the professor has studied. It's just a big checklist encyclopedia app

The misconception of the master ball falling in gen 1 probably comes from the real 1/256 glitch, where a move with 100 accuracy still has a 1/256 chance to miss in gen 1

I remember something being said about pokemon you run into in the grass specifically exposed themselves to fight. They challanged you, and since most pokemon are pretty intelligent, I'm pretty sure they know they might be caught and are okay with it.

A misconception is that trainers don’t have powers. Have you seen Lorelei in Pokémon Adventures?? She basically makes a voodoo doll out of ice and if she drops it and breaks it you straight up die! Green almost got her arm cut off because of her ice doll! (Luckily her Ditto became an arm replacement before her arm was cut off so only Ditto was cut off from her arm). Also anybody born in Viridian Forest is a psychic apparently? And they have healing powers? Lance, Yellow, and Giovanni all can hear a Pokémon thoughts and feelings and also heal Pokémon simply because they were born in Viridian forest

I saw a head canon which might actually just be canon that Pokemon are a violent species and battle for fun and ENJOY it. Thats why it was so easy to get them to cooperate with trainers in tournaments

A pokemon that doesn’t like to battle is a rare individual :)
