CORRECTION: For the first fact, Mewtwo was the first Pokémon to appear on screen in the US/Europe. In the Japanese opening Charizard is the first Pokémon to be seen on screen as their intro was a little different to ours. Thanks to everyone who corrected me in the comments :)

In the games, Mewtwo isn't a clone. Mew gave birth naturally, and the scientists performed transformative experiments on the newborn until it turned into Mewtwo.

Fun Fact: According to the pokedex 3d pro, when pronouncing mewtwo, the stressed syllable is the “two” rather than the “mew” part of the name. So it’s actually pronounced as myu-TOO rather than MYU-too.

Also Rayquaza’s name comes from the word “quasar” which is something space related. Quasar is pronounced as “kway-zar”. Thus Rayquaza is pronounced as ray-kway-zuh. Not ray-kwah-zuh.

Also the ev in evolution is not pronounced like eve or evening, but rather ev like as in everybody.
