Standing Up - Hip Replacement

Показать описание
Standing up. To stand, place one hand on your walker and the other on the surface you're pushing up from. Never start with both hands on your walker. If you're sitting in a low chair, place your operative leg in front of you to prevent bending forward past 90 degrees. Avoid chairs without armrests, and you may need to add cushions to low chairs.

Thank you for this video. My father-in-law, as I am writing, was trying figure out how to stand up using a walker. In the last few days his health has declined such that he needs the walker. I followed your instructions and he was able to do it. Thank you!

I am already a wheelchair user as I have a previous spinal injury which made my right leg very weak. Every single video that I have been watching, and all the post op hip replacement instruction that I have found, assumes that your other leg is strong enough to stand on while your operated leg sticks out straight in front of you. Please could you post something that covers people who aren't quite so strong, and who use wheelchairs. Getting in and out of a wheelchair without bending is also almost impossible.

Rheumatoid created pain and deformity in elbows. I can’t use armed chairs. Now what?
