I love that this song doesn't villianize the girl for not liking him back. Too many songs do that, I like that it shows the message of just cause she doesn't love him back that way doesn't mean she doesn't want him to be happy.

When it comes to being rejected by your crushes, you have to think to yourself : Do I wanna be bitter about this and lose a great friend or do I wanna push these feelings down and continue on with them still by my side? I really wanted her to say yes, but I knew I didn't want to lose her as a friend. I actually got over it pretty fast after that realization.

been listening to this song on repeat because I’m in love with my best friend but they’re aromantic and asexual, so that basically means I have zero chance with them- I told them how I felt and we are still best friends but I know all my little hopes and visions for a future where we would be together are gone, and i don’t know, I think I’m handling rejection in a healthy way, but I’m still not completely over them and this song kinda catches the exact feeling I’m going through right now? Like kinda handling it and kinda accepting it but still not completely over it?? I dunno. But this song slaps, I love it

The Happy Fits are really out here just giving us great music with great lyrics and rhythm!! Every time I hear the "she wants me to be loved" chorus part I get so hyped! It builds up really well and there's something kinda wholesome about the idea of still wanting someone to find love and to be loved despite not being in love with them yourself.

Being in love with someone doesn't just mean being in love with them, to be truly in love with someone means loving them straight up. Loving someone means wanting them to be happy, to have the best and to live their best, and sometimes that means them chosing someone else. Yeah it'll hurt and it might suck, but if you find it impossible to accept without demonizing their choice, you don't love them, you're just in love with them.
