Fun fact for younger gamers: Vice City did get a lot of its reference from scarface but the majority of visuals came from rockstars development team sitting down and watching all 91 hours and 44 minutes of MIami Vice repeatedly.

Did anyone else use to put the flying cars cheat, then grab a rhino tank, spin the Cannon back, shoot behind you non stop and slowly make yourself fly in the tank? I Fucking loved doing that

Really appreciate the messages gave me a massive smile when i read them, on the bright side at least he's not around to see what rockstar have done to this game at the moment. He was also a music producer so i'm sure he'd have something to say about all the missing classics in the "remaster" haha.'


I was 13 when this came out and I remember one day I was repeatedly using the chainsaw on a cop on the ground because the blood splatter showing on the screen was a really new feature for games, and my dad walked in and just said "is that a f***ing chainsaw and blood on the screen, huh nice (walks away laughing)".

RIP DAD, I miss and cherish these little moments we had.

The soundtrack to Vice City was exquisite. It got me hooked to 80’s music.

I played this game pretty much non-stop when it came out. I remember my roommates filing in and out, being responsible, going to class, all being fooled when Fernando starts singing at the end of "I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight", thinking there was someone else in the room.
Between Vice City and Wind Waker, It's amazing I passed that year.

I remember going to bed at 4am the first day I bought this game, eyes bloodshot but happy as hell.
Can't wait to re-live this experience.

Although I'd've preferred a full remake, I'm still buying it because Vice City is the 1 GTA game that I missed playing back in the day.

I’d love a Vice City Stories remake too. That was my first GTA. I remember I didn’t like doing missions and just liked screwing around so I used one of the bridge clipping glitches where you bring a big vehicle and basically jump over an invisible border just so I could score around there too lol.
