Two Years Later, Is Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition FIXED?

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definite Edition released over two years ago now, and whilst there have been numerous patch updates, each with an extensive list of fixes and problems solved, all three games in this iconic trio aren’t playing perfectly.

Yes, there are many among you who are happy with the state of The Trilogy; after all, they’re now playable, without game breaking bugs, and still enjoyable all these years later, but given Rockstar and publisher Take-Two’s bottomless pit of money the fact they were released in such a shoddy state to begin with is unforgivable.

What's criminal is they pulled the old ones that you could play off the store and replaced your options with this.

They gave up on the Midnight Club series as well. Its like all efforts were shifted to GTA V online and GTA VI development

Chances are it was take 2 that decided to release the games but then when it became a problem rockstar had to pick up the pieces which is why they aren’t bothered about the project

I would appreciate a lot more of this kind of coverage on a lot of games. The initial state at release is rarely the final state. Sometimes they make it better, like no man’s sky. Sometimes they allegedly make it much worse like with crash team racing adding in micro transactions after the review period

The increased draw distance in san andreas along with no fog ruined the illusion of a bigger map. You should not be able to see las venturas and the desert from the countryside or mount chiliad from grove street.

They don’t hit the same without the full soundtrack. Vice city without Michael Jackson??

The worst thing about this release is that all they needed to do to make it worthwhile was to just make the original games work on updated hardware, maybe that'd require some major refactoring to work in a different engine but they basically have the instructions on how the games should look, that's like a third of gamedev time dealt with right there.

Ill be honest, im having a blast with these classics on Series X. Looks amazing and havent had any issues really either.

This game really left a bad taste in the mouth. I still can't believe Rockstar would be so careless and paid no tribute to these games that we loved so much growing up. Really dissapointed, bc growing up, it was a big part of my childhood :(

They just dropped these on mobile and they r really good. Option to turn the lighting back to the originals made a big difference

Other than the HORRIBLE rain in GTA 3, I never had an issue that prevented me from enjoying my time honestly

It would be nice if you showed examples of the issues you talked about. 5:15 was a long list of problems and not a single thing was shown.
