This was our first time installing hardwood floors and it turned out amazing! We had the help of our friend and building consultant, Josh Brantingham. He shares his tips and tricks that will get you started on the right foot and set you up for success.

This home renovation project is totally doable as a beginner and it was a lot less intimidating and complicated than we expected. With just a few basic tools, any homeowner can tackle this DIY project and save thousands of dollars on the install! We absolutely love our new hardwood floors!

I have all of my flooring… The contractor who was supposed to install them had an emergency and had to fly home. I still have the flooring. I want to install them myself. I love your energy in this video...I am about to rent a house and the lady that I am renting from needs to have flooring put in...it is waterproof hardwood snap in flooring...this is what this is right? It’s easy the only hard part be making cuts around doors. Also don’t put the planks right up to the walls leave room for expansion of the walls and the floor of it too tight it can buckle

Floating floor are a dream to install. Just make sure you leave the manufactures recommended gap along the walls.

Great job Jen! One thing, and maybe I missed it but it seems there is no discussion of the chalk line such as how was it determined where to snap it and what it does for the project.

Be happy they did no take sheetrock all the way down. Any movement and it could move just enough to crack plaster.

Good video - wish you would cover the "beginning". There must have been a carpet on this floor. Removing that to make sure that you got a base you can work with is actually one of the issues on which beginners fail the most.
