It operates by collecting the flow of ionized plasma that naturally exists in the ionosphere and Van Allen Belts for Low Earth Orbit applications, and within the solar wind flux for applications in Geosynchronous Earth Orbit and beyond the earth's magnetosphere into deep space. The method directs ionized plasma through a channel using the principle of magnetohydrodynamics. Unlike photovoltaic systems, this solution can provide continuous power generation even when blocked by sunlight, reducing reliance on energy storage.
