Since its introduction into service in 2005, the F-22 Raptor has become a cornerstone of American air power strategy. Its versatility and ability to effectively achieve air superiority have made the fighter an indispensable asset for the US Air Force.
However, with more countries gaining access to new stealth fighters and advanced drones, the question arises: “Can the Raptor continue to maintain its dominance?”
We’ll be trying to answer that question in today’s video!

My father worked on the ATF program in the 80s. The picture at 2:09 has been framed on my wall since I was a kid, 87' or 88'. He brought it home from his office at Kirkland AFB. I've never seen that image anywhere else... so cool. Keep it flying.

I think we're looking at the last, twin engine, manned, stealth and freaking cool looking fighter jet in USAF history... I'm aware that the F-35 is newer but that bird doesn't have 2 engines and isn't as cool looking as the Raptor, despite being even deadlier...
Despite the fact that the NGAD program to develop the 6th gen fighter jet for USAF, to replace the Raptor, has been put to hold to reevaluate the requirements (size, number of engines, price), this next generation aircraft will fly somewhere in the mid 2030s, but it most definitely won't be such a great looking fighter jet like the Raptor. Owing to the fact that NGAD will cherish stealth and potentially speed, over maneuverability, it will look more like the elongated flying wing than as something we would automatically recognize as the air superiority platform.. Those high G maneuvers that were expected from the fighter jet for the last 60 years or so, will become completely unnecessary given that the future a2a missiles will be almost impossible to evade.
So bow to the King, bow to the Raptor - the best exclusively manned air superiority fighter jet in history.

since f22 build and before upgrade, f22 is fearsome beast that no country couldn't not make

Why bother making an NGAD? Just upgrade the Raptor to what it should've been.

It would be a mistake to retire a very viable platform after the sheer amount of $$ spent on it. Keep it flying and upgrade it. Everything that has been done with the F-15EX can easily be done on the F-22, and if it were my military, I'd keep it going even after the NGAD has entered service in numbers exceeding what is available in the F-22. It just doesn't make sense to remove a proven platform that will continue to befuddle the enemy for decades to come. A combination of F-15EX's, F-35's, F-22's, and the new NGAD's would be a force unstoppable!

A Raptor is a BIRD dude! Look it up! Raptor is a term referring to certain birds of prey. It's not necessarily a dinosaur/ reptile.

We need the NGAD to be built or a modern F-22 type fighter.

According to Gen. Michael Hostage (USAF), the F-35 has a smaller classified RCS than the F-22 Raptor. It also has much more modern avionics and the engine and provides much better situational awareness. In this situation, it is up to the USAF to decide if it wants to invest further in the Raptor.

This really doesn't say anything new about the f22 upgrade.

Im suprised they carrier converted the 35, i thought the twins on the f22 would have been preferable for carrier ops. Now that woulda been a sight !!

PS. Raptor doesn't mean reptile. A raptor is a bird of prey like hawks, falcons and eagles. You might be getting confused with the dinosaur "velociraptor". I am sure it was not their intent to call it a dinosaur and considering it is supposed to be a replacement for the Eagle and Falcon I think I might be closer to the mark. Just saying. I enjoy your content but some research on the basics would go a long way. Referring to it as a reptile kept distracting me and diminished the enjoyment. Cheers.

Why did I read we only have 149 of these in service. Then I read they stop producing these this is the best fighter plane in the world and we quit making these confusing to me I know the expense is a lot more than making an f-15 in an F-16 upgrade to today's technology but I would think we would have a hell of a lot more f-22s dominating The heirs what's f-35s?

As soon as you said ‘acrobatics’ I knew you had no idea of what you were talking. The correct term being aerobatics
