I am super excited for you guys to check out this review! My good buddy Ben Peterson (Ben Banters/ Knafs Co) just dropped his very first all his knife design for his company Knafs Co. It is a great compact budget EDC knife with an overall length of 6.375" and D2 blade / G-10 handle. The coolest thing about it is that Ben has designed the Lander to be fully customizable and repairable, and he wants you to take it apart and tweak it! Knafs Co will even have the CAD files of the scales available for free so you can 3D Print/Machine/or contract someone to make you some rad customized scales with no guess work. In my opinion this is a great knife for first time knife owner, first time knife modder, or just someone looking for a great compact budget EDC knife.

A little note about Knafs Co. : Me and Ben have been coworkers and friends for close to 5 years now and I can say with no hesitations that he is one great dude. We worked at a big knife retailer together and did some amazingly fun and awesome story telling with knives and I think he has been influential directly or indirectly for a lot of the fun/interesting knife content that we all enjoy (not to mention he has probably taught us all something we didn't know about knives). He recently went full time with his side hustle Knafs Co it's basically just him and his incredible wife Athena chipping away at a dream day in and day out. Knowing how Ben's brain works I would say that The Lander is just the tip of the iceberg for cool knife designs that bring something more to the table so lets all order a Lander or buy a poster and keep Ben and Athena going!

Can’t wait for this. Ben and Zac got me into knives and customizing them. This is the perfect combination of the two. Got to find a way to add a speaker to say "What up guys” when you flick the knife open.

Ik this video is about Ben and his new product, which are both great, but can we take a moment to appreciate Zacs creativity? Having your very own channel is a new venue for you still, and it’s fun to see your creative side in a way we haven’t seen it before. I like it!

We are so lucky to have you in the knife community Zac. I really love the content and most of all the enthusiasm.

We are equally lucky to have Ben also and as a designer. I really love how he built this for the knife guy.

Everything that is not allowed to do to other knife brands such as take apart etc, we are able to do this this knife, plus Ben had made it extremely simple.

It sucks having a perfectly tuned pivot and you decide to add some afternmarket scales and after installing those scales the action is no longer perfect because you had to pull out the pivot screw.

Thanks for fixing this Ben. 🤙

There's a lot to love in this video. Cool knife. Great philosophy around modding/repairs. All the OG's. Great low-fi soundtrack. Space sequence. Oh and pocket clip by Mary Poppins!

I received one of these as a gift recently and what impresses me the most about this knife is just how compact it is. When I saw it had a 3 inch blade, I was expecting the size to be akin to maybe my Slim Buck 112 Ranger or Sog Terminus XR, so I was pretty blown away when I got it in hand and discovered it was noticeably smaller than either knife.

It's actually smaller than even my Kershaw Cryo or CRKT Piet, and both of those knives have blades around a quarter of an inch shorter than the Lander. I don't know how Ben pulled it off, but I'm genuinely impressed that he has managed to fit a 3" blade into a truly compact package.

The action is solid, but I am a bit underwhelmed that it's slightly crunchy for the asking price of almost $60. It'll probably improve with a touch of oil and some use, and is really my only complaint with the knife.

The packaging was nice and minimalistic, and came with some spare screws as well as a humorous instruction manual. I genuinely hope that the modular concept takes off and that little issues like the action can be smoothed out with time.

I really like what Ben is doing with this. I'm a huge proponent of DIY culture, so it immediately caught my attention when I read he was releasing the CAD files for the scales. That's freaking amazing! I'm also looking forward to seeing what scale options they offer on the site. I've enjoyed my Cat Astronaut WE Banter and would love to get some matching scales. You know, I think I'm going to carry my Banter today. lol Thanks for the video and keep up the guest appearances of the old BHQ crew! It's fun to see you all hanging out.
